Brownies with Chocolate Oat Frosting

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, flaxseed, brewer's yeast, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk melted coconut oil or butter, sugar, honey, eggs, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix just until combined.
  5. Fold in ground oats and dark chocolate chips.
  6. Pour into the pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 22-26 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean (fudgy is good).
  8. Cool completely before frosting.

  3. Add milk and combine. Add more milk 1 teaspoon at a time until frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  4. Mix in oat flour.
  5. Spread over cooled brownies and refrigerate 15 minutes to set.
